High scores show that the school is effective in teach students, while low test scores make teachers and schools look as though they are non principle the students properly. This is not always the case. thither are teachers who do teach students what they need to know to pass the test, unless their students are even so unprepared. Although teachers try to improve instruction, student performance is still variable to other factors that the school cannot control.Standardized tests cover certain material, which gives teachers something particular to teach. This is helpful, in that it allows teachers to know exactly what to teach. It also sets up a design for the teachers, which is to get the students to pass. However, this process leaves something to be desired. Because the test is so important to the futurity of the students, teachers, and schoo l, helping students to pass test becomes the most important part of their schooling. This restricts the educators from teaching students about things that are more important. College is usually next step for students later high school so it would seem logical that high school prepares them for college, but teachers are so busy preparing students for the test that they are not preparing them for the future. Consequently, students arrive at college ill-prepared, with shallow educations (Gitlin).For some students, the time they have in the classroom is not enough for them to grasp the topic. While teachers usually bid a period for students to see them for extra help, some students do not have time for this. Most students have commitments outside of the classroom, such as m... ... the students full knowledge of the subject.
